The Darkest Minds ~ Alexandra Bracken
This book is dripping with excitement and fantasy. Ruby lives
in a world where children are dying a mysterious death. Those children that
live are viewed as dangerous. Is it a curse or a gift? Are you a green, yellow,
orange or the very worst a red? Find out!
They took the surviving students and placed them into schools
for "Rehabilitation". Ruby ends up at Thurmond a cruel school that
brutalized its children. She befriends a person there with her help they
scantly get out alive. She sets out on her own to find the promise land, East
River. It is the Promised Land for children with "abilities."
Ruby's ability is one of the most dangerous and she can't
control it. Anyone near her could be in danger and if they find out they will
fear her. She meets a small group of children being led by Liam. They too are
looking for East River. She dangerously deceives the group making them believe
she is not who she really is. Then he falls and she fears what might happen.
In this action filled story you have the protagonist, Ruby
with her friends and enemies along with her internal struggles. You meet
friends along with their abilities and difficulties. You will pick, choose and
then be surprised at the outcome. The character building is amazing.

Baad Dog ~Sal Conte/E.Van Lowe
I received this
story in exchange for an honest review.
Well, here it
is. If you have read any of my other reviews you know I am a Sal Conte/E. Van
Lowe fan. Huge! But don’t take my word for it. Read this short story and you
will understand why. Then, like me you will wait with anticipation for the next
book and the next.
We start with a
somewhat selfish man who desperately wants to replace his childhood dog. He has
the perfect excuse, his children. To him it is win, win all the way around. No
mess, no fuss, the perfect cute little fluffy puppy dog. Until one day when a
few wires cross, melt or maybe it was just an overheated battery.
This little cute
puppy might even put Cujo to shame. After you read this story your opinion on
cute fluffy lap dogs will be tainted. Forever.
This is book
will forever be on a favorites list of mine.
